Steel wheels are easy to repair.
Steel wheels bite road well as compare to alloy wheels; thus, they perform better in hard weather conditions such as in snowy areas.
As compare to alloy wheels greater force is needed to bend or break steel wheels.
For steel wheels, cosmetic damages are not a big concern.
Steel rims give a low or poor performance in summers.
Agility and performance of the vehicle are dampened when using steel wheels.
Now, before discussing the pros and cons of carbon fibre rims let us give you some information regarding them. Firstly, carbon-fibre wheels are not commonly used wheels. They are mostly used for bicycles. Many cyclists and amateur racers use these tires in their races because of their impact and advantage in races. A wheel performs better if it is lightweight and that’s what carbon-fibre wheel offers you. They are lightweight yet strong.
Carbon-fibre rims are stiffer than aluminium wheels.
Carbon-fibre wheels are lightweight.
Aluminium wheels have better aerodynamics as compare to carbon-fibre wheels but the way carbon-fibre wheels are used, they make more aerodynamics. Carbon-fibre wheels do this due to the carbon in it which guides the air thus resulting in less drag.
Carbon-fibre rims have more sporty and trendy looks as compare to other wheels
Carbon-fibre wheels have bad braking qualities.
Even though they are strong and stiff yet in a lethal crash they break easily as compared to aluminium rims which bend upon the crash.
The rim of carbon-fibre wheels become less stiff compared to alloy rims when the temperature increase between 180-200 degrees hence heat resistance varies in carbon-fibre wheels.
